There are some really great plans rumbling around in our minds at any given time. And, probably even more so for a criminal mind. But, on criminal’s grand plan went awry sending him into a fury to cover up what he’d done.
The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Department says they were called out to a home on Norris Street in reference to a home invasion. When they arrived at about 7:45 a.m. they were met with the victim Christon Fields, 30. Field told the police that she was startled from a sleep to someone standing over her. She said she saw a black male trying to get the money that she had in a cup next to her bed. The man had a t-shirt over his face and pushed her down to the bed as she tried to get up. He held her on the bed and put a knife to her neck threatening her not to get up. But, in the rustle, the shirt covering his face fell down and revealed his identity. That which Field immediately recognized as her husband’s nephew.
“Jerrod, please don’t do this to me, please don’t do this to me. What’s wrong?” Field recalls telling Jerrod Fields.
She fought against him and was able to knock the knife away. But, Jerrod grabbed a pillow and tried to smother her. But, she pulled away and headed for the door. That’s when she says Jerrod ran past her and away from the house. But not before grabbing some cash and four Christmas presents.
Jerrod is still on the run. If you know where he might be hiding, you are asked to call the Spartanburg Sheriff’s Office.
