Welcome back to reality. Here’s everything you missed out on this week…well, not everything, but the most popular at least.
The Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport terminal is getting a multi-million dollar make-over and finally we get a sneak peek into what it’s all going to look like when it’s completed. After some delays last year, Skanska USA and Moss & Associates were been awarded an $80 million contract to expand and renovate the terminal at GSP about a month ago, and according to the plans, are moving right along with the work.
It may have been a warm 70 degrees this weekend, but that didn’t stop dozens of eager skaters as they laced up and stepped out onto downtown Greenville’s newest addition – an ice-skating rink. “Ice On Main” is located in front of the Courtyard Marriott at the corner of Broad and Main streets. The 3,200 square foot rink has real ice and uses special equipment to maintain the frozen surface in the warm, South Carolina winter.
The head football coach at Union County High School resigned effective immediately on Tuesday, claiming personal reasons for his departure, which begs the question, “what’s the real reason?” District Superintendent Dr. Kristi Woodal, confirmed Coach David Lipsey’s resignation. “Coach Lipsey has been a good football coach for a number of years in our county,” said Woodall. “He is a positive role model for students and is a respected colleague. We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
There you have it…an extra 5 pounds on the scale, a quiet house, and some exciting local news.
