Think you are or that you’ve met Clemson University’s biggest fan? Well, there’s a new kid in town that may give you a run for your money.
A report by ABC news 4 says a Charleston couple who gave birth to their new baby girl on Halloween night have named their bundle of joy, Clemson. Yup, after the university to which they love so much.
Heather and Ryan Byrd are “all in,” like Dabo Swinney would say. They even had the head coach break the pregnancy news to the future little girl’s grandmother.
After the two met at a frat party on Clemson’s campus on Heather’s first night, the school has been the center of their relationship — figuratively and now literally.
“Just thought Clemson was the perfect name because that is us,” Heather Byrd said. “We met my first night at a fraternity party at Clemson. Clemson really has been the center of our relationship from the get go.”
And, little Clemson Byrd hasn’t let her namesake down, yet. She’s already rubbed the rock and attended her first game in less than a month of life.
“She was at the Wake game, her first Clemson win at the valley,” Heather said.
Even though she may not get the hype or hoopla yet, “She slept the entire game” Heather said.
Heather jokes that she talked to the coach Swinney who thought naming their next child Dabo was great, “or Dabbette if it was a girl,” she says. But his Mrs. Swinney confirmed to Heather that he’s a bit crazy.
Sounds like these two are perfect for each other.
At least it’s better than Tiger…oh, wait, there’s already one of those.
