Building of outdoor ice rink in full swing, despite warm temps

A schedule is a schedule, and even though it might be a little warm to think about strapping on the old ice skates, Greenville's newest attraction is sticking to the plan.

Crews are working away at getting the ice rink completed.

It may feel like summer outside, but crews are hard at work to get the Ice on Main ice skating rink completed in time for holiday visitors.

According to their website, the rink, located in the heart of downtown Greenville, is an open-air ice skating rink – the only one of its kind in Upstate South Carolina.

The crews have already installed a 13,000-pound chiller using a 90-ton crane, and today the rink was flooded in preparation for Friday’s opening.

UBS Ice on Main will be open daily from Friday, November 25 through Sunday, January 8.

It costs $10 to use rink, which includes skate rental and full-day pass.
