Man says winning $200k wasn’t worth the drive to Columbia to pick up

A man had $200,000 waiting for him at the South Carolina Education Lottery headquarters in Columbia, but for a whole week, he put off the trip, saying it was too far to drive.

Is this too much work for $200k?

There’s not many things that would keep people from free money these days. But, for one Seneca resident, a 130-mile drive to Columbia was just too much for $200,000.

“It’s a long way to drive,” he admitted.

The South Carolina Education Lottery winner put off his trip for a week, but eventually made it to Columbia to pick up his big, fat check.

“This will keep me from being broke,” he grinned.

The Seneca man claimed the last top prize in the ten-dollar $200,000 Cash Inferno game. The game is no longer available for sale, but players have until Tuesday, February 28, 2012, to redeem any winnings.
